A Space-aged Approach to Resorts

Okay, so this video had it pretty wrong, but it’s convinced me that outer space … with a pool seems like a good vacation idea.

And, as if by some divine synchronicity goddess, (and a few search words) I came across Jade Mountain.

I don’t know what Infinity Pools are, (try reading the description) but it seems like a nice way of putting “big-huge-pool-overlooking-forever.” I’m betting the pictures don’t represent the pools, them being “infinity,” and all, along with the limitations of photography techniques. (How do you capture “infinity” on film, anyway, and for that matter, memory card?)

Rather than being a “resort with nice pools,” Jade Mountain comes off more as “nice pools, oh, and a nice resort, too.” The infinity pools being an integral part of the design, they have certain features that no other pool has — special tiles that give the appearance of constant movement, and a glass side that makes the pools look like they stretch out ‘to some distant water-drenched space station future.

Each suite comes with a different design, or varying shapes and sizes, and illuminated accordingly to what part of suites they belong to, like, the sun, moon, or star suites.

I don’t know how the designers managed to tap into my dreams, but this seems like another good destination for socialclimber!
