Ask yourself these questionsWho doesn’t want to take a vacation? I’m not sure anybody will turn down an invitation to a luxury vacation in Bali or a ski weekend in Aspen. However before you pack your bags, ask yourself these questions. If you answered positively to all 10, then it’s time to take that holiday vacation.

  • Did I save enough to go on a trip?

The first and most fundamental question to ask yourself when going on a trip – really, if you don’t have enough money, how can you go on a trip? Forget backpacking because in reality, you’d still need money. With the current threat of recession affecting most major cities in the world, fares and lodging don’t come cheap.

  • Am I bringing the necessary clothes?

Am I bringing the necessary clothes? You maybe a tourist but you don’t have to look like one! Nor should you bring those haute couture items you oh-so-treasure. Lightweight, breathable clothes (preferably made from cotton) for summer, and enough thick clothes for the cooler seasons. Know what season it is, and you’ll be able to strategize what clothes to bring.

  • Do I have the necessary documents?

Valid Passport. Visa. Credit/Debit cards (just in case you get too happy shopping and lose cash). Airline tickets. Printed itinerary. Health Documentation. Emergency Information (in case you lose you way after a drunken escapade, anybody who finds you will know who to call). Insurance. Traveler’s checks. Guide books. Personal Identification. Provide a close relative or friend with a photocopy of your documents so in case of loss, you can ask them fax it to you.

  • Did I get my shots?

Many destinations offer not only the best food, entertainment & adventure you can find, but also the worst diseases (remember SARS? How about Yellow Fever?). Get your vaccine around 4-6 weeks before your trip and you’ll enjoy your trip even more knowing you’re safe from local diseases.

  • What gadgets will I have on board? What gadgets will I have on board?

Load up your psp with games so you won’t get bored in the plane. Leave anything you equate with work. Most people forget the most important gadget during traveling - the camera! (don’t fall victim to resorts who charge exorbitant fees for disposable ones) What better way to remember your trip than by taking a picture of you getting kissed by that Camel in Dubai? :P

  • Did I bring a book?

If your plane departs from the airport at a later time, you can sit back, relax and enjoy a book while waiting. Brush up on your foreign language by reading a foreign language book. Time well spent!

  • Did I bring my toiletries?

Would you want to scare the natives with your obviously-haven’t-slept, haven’t-shaved, haven’t-combed-my-hair-look?? Freshen up before you reach your destination. For airports that don’t allow liquids in the check in luggage, toiletries are provided in flight.

  • Have I told my boss/college professor mentor/landlady about my trip?

Would you really want to lose your job/fail a subject just because you “forgot” to inform your boss/professor of your trip? Your landlady on the other hand should be informed you’re leaving for a while lest you’re reported missing. She can also collect your mail and check on your place from time to time.

  • Did I pack medicine?

You can never tell if you’ll be allergic to a certain item in the food, or you’ll get sick from over-exhaustion. Be the girl/boy scout your mom has always been proud of! Bring Aspirin or analgesic, mosquito repellent and anti-diarrhea.

  • Are you truly ready to leave the hustle and bustle of your life (albeit temporarily) and experience an adventure of a lifetime?

Ready. Set. Off to holiday you GO!

I’m a new chicster! Yipeee!

And I must tell you, it’s not an easy job being a chicster - oh yes it is! hahaha!

Truly I must say the site is very user-friendly, not to mention the people who run it….although not sure if he’s someone important but it says he’s admin… Anyway, I haven’t had much activity for I spent a whole 30 minutes salivating over these L.A.M.B. ‘Darrel’ Pump sky-high pumps… to die for, I say, to die for!!! (total damage: $335) Don’t they remind you of Brazil? ah lovely Brazil, I most certainly will try to walk your beaches again one day…

shoes

Now on to chicster, the whole idea is to upload really nice items from fashion, travel, home, garden, gadgets and the list goes on.. and chicsters get to vote if it’s chic or weak. User generated content for the chic people of the net! Visit their site chictini.com and you’ll know what I mean!

Aside from those lovely shoes, I found a few other items you might enjoy:

Something for the men

something for the men

Mix tape meets Steve Jobs. Only $45!!! If you’re resourceful you can try to make your own!
The next one if weirdly funny (In case somebody visits my place, there’s a piece worthy of 2 hour conversation)

Now tell me if THAT isn’t a conversation piece! Perfect for my plain, boring magnolia wall.

Till next time sweeties! ciao!

Forgetful-Me-No-More: Pack Me Notepads

If you’re like me - packing at the last hour (or even worse the last minute! que horror!) - a trip to whatever luxury destination is always full oflobotoME notepads I cannot believe I forgot my tweezers again!” or “oh no, who’s feeding my goldfish tomorrow!?” just when you’re about to board the plane.

Now, during one of my sessions skipping from one online store to another, I found these precious little notepads that will make sure you won’t forget anything anymore!

Presenting… Pack Me Notepads! (from those brilliant people at Lobotome.com)

Objective: A checklist to get you on your way, on time, with your bags and without going to the loony bin! (just perfect! sometimes packing can really take a toll on your sanity).

From making reservations, checking your house before you leave, to bringing the proper clothing - the Pack Me Notepads never fails to impress me with their very organized, very detailed, and carefully thought of list! I was trying for 30 minutes to think of something not included in the list (Tweezers actually, but then again, I think I’m the only one left in my lovely city plucking away at my bushy eyebrows). A portion is dedicated to the mothers, aptly titled “the lil people not in charge”, so no more excuses for not bringing that pacifier!!!

Best of all, these notepads are printed on recycled paper (hurray for the environment), and measure 5.5 x 8.5 (50 sheets). Priced at roughly $10, these notepads are a steal!

They also have other notepads which you can check out here.

It’s so fun surfing the internet, I haven’t had this much fun checking out new sites since Sex and The City ended. Hurray for my new addiction! :)

Dahlings, it’s been a rather dreadful time trying to manage my way here in WordPress, but like all other ladders I have to climb, I must be flexible, have my wits about me, and must I say my manicure is impeccable today! I just hope typing on this keyboard won’t break my nails anytime soon or I will have a little mean fit!

Update this as soon as possible! Ciao!
